Osaka, Japan – Liberia’s Commissioner General to Expo 2025 Osaka, Ambassador Queen Juli Endee, continues to break new ground for cultural diplomacy and economic engagement. In a recent courtesy visit to the Jelly Fish Pavilion, one of Expo 2025’s leading entertainment and innovation hubs, Ambassador Endee explored exciting new avenues for music, cultural exchange, and trade collaboration between Liberia and Japan.
The Pavilion’s Commissioner General, Mrs. Sachiko Nakajima—also a renowned performer and producer—personally welcomed Ambassador Endee and led her on a tour of the vibrant, dynamic exhibition space. The visit followed an earlier online meeting between the two leaders, during which they discussed joint music and cultural ventures, an initiative that has already received endorsement from the Government of Japan.

Ambassador Endee later participated in a special program hosted by the Jelly Fish Pavilion, where she met with key cultural and economic stakeholders, including a representative from the Osaka Chamber of Commerce, one of Japan’s oldest theater performers, and a special assistant to a member of the Osaka Parliament. These conversations laid the groundwork for future collaboration in both artistic and economic development sectors.
In a significant development, Mr. Mayu Komatsu confirmed that Yao City—a major industrial hub in Osaka Prefecture—is open to discussions on strengthening business and economic ties with Liberia. A follow-up meeting has been scheduled for next week to craft an action plan for collaboration. Yao is known for its car parts manufacturing and industrial equipment sectors, offering a promising gateway for Liberia’s trade and investment agenda.
During her tour, Mrs. Nakajima expressed strong interest in building a partnership between the Jelly Fish Pavilion and the Liberia Pavilion, particularly through joint entertainment and cultural exchange programs that would highlight Liberian talent and heritage. She proposed initiatives that would allow Liberian artists to perform alongside Japanese counterparts, host workshops, and participate in dialogue sessions that promote deeper intercultural understanding.

Ambassador Endee echoed the enthusiasm, emphasizing Liberia’s rich legacy in music, dance, and storytelling and how these artistic traditions can serve as a bridge between nations. “This visit marks the beginning of what I believe will be a beautiful partnership,” she said. “Liberia is proud to showcase its culture on this global stage, and we look forward to working closely with the Jelly Fish Pavilion to share the creativity and spirit of the Liberian people with the world.”
She also noted that she and Assistant Minister of Culture Affairs, Angel M. Morris, have been holding ongoing online meetings in coordination with the Ministry of Information, Cultural Affairs and Tourism (MICAT), under the leadership of Hon. Jerolinmek Mathew Piah. This collaboration reflects Liberia’s strategic approach to maximizing its impact at Expo 2025.

Mrs. Nakajima closed the visit by reaffirming her Pavilion’s commitment to organizing joint cultural programs, including musical showcases, dance exhibitions, and artist exchange platforms.
As Liberia positions itself not only as a center of cultural excellence but also as a destination open to trade and innovation, this partnership marks a major step forward in amplifying the nation’s voice at one of the world’s most influential global stages.
